What is a LOOP?
A loop sensor is a detector that senses a change in inductance caused by the passage of a vehicle near the sensor. It is used to manage traffic flow. Vehicles passing over or stopped within the detection area of an inductive-loop detector decrease the inductance of the loop. The electronics unit senses this event as a decrease in frequency and sends a pulse to the controller signifying the passage or presence of a vehicle.

Who we are
Highway Technology and Loops, Sensors & Controls (LSC) are Ontario’s premier installers of traffic loop detectors and roadside automated information data systems (RAIDS). Our dedicated teams, centrally located in Uxbridge, Ontario mobilizes throughout Ontario, from Kenora to Ottawa and from Windsor to Fort Erie.
In 2004 Hwy Tech/LSC was founded by Ken Reamann and Ronn Reaman in a coffee shop at Coppins Corners in Ontario.
Annually, we install 1000+ loops, 200+ counting stations and we complete 30+ projects. As well, we manage the entire data collection program (we call it ‘RAIDS’) for IMOS in Northern Ontario.
Our administration operations is managed by Dyan MacDonald, who has over 5 years construction experience and 15 years commercial insurance experience. Dyan brings a strong corporate structure to Hwy Tech/LSC.
Our construction operations team is managed by Ronn Reaman, who has over 20 years in the construction field. Ronn brings an unparalleled level of experience to our operations. Ronn is a gold seal member of the Canadian Construction Association.
